Most diseases arise as an interplay of genetics, diet and life style.

 

Heart Disease

  • Exercise in post-MI. patient  ¯ angina & MI. 35%
  • Mediterranian Diet (post MI. 46 month study) reduce 70% death and non-fatal infarction (Improve lipid profile and ¯ inflammation.) (Lyon diet study shows diet effective in 1° & 2° prevention of heart attacks.)
  • DASH Diet alone can control 80% mild and moderate hypertension without medication.
  • Fish oil, (in diet or supplement) ¯ sudden death and arrthymia 29% to 45%.  Effective in both 1° and 2° prevention of heart attacks.
  • Fish finally is now recommended by American Heart Association for heart health 30 years after its benefit to reduce heart attacks was reported in the Greenland Eskimo Study in 1970.
  • Folic Acid, Vit. B12, B6, combination supplement effectively reduce homocysteine in 95% cases (as in ULTRA-VIT. PLUS).  ¯ restenosis 50% following angioplasty (NEJ. Nov 01).  This combination supplement also ¯ cardiovascular event (MI. DIABETES – High fibre low glycemic diet, & exercise can ¯ type II DM by 60% compare to Metformin of only 30%. 

 

\ Numerous examples prove that diet, appropriate supplements, life style changes can be more powerful than drugs in the prevention and treatment of diseases especially in early stages, and therefore should be the cornerstone of disease prevention, health maintenance, and to complement drug treatment.
